On October 16, 2020, the Camp Blount Historic Site Association hosted an official unveiling of the Volunteer Statue. Members of the CBHSA Board of Directors were joined by sculptor Wayne Hyde, state and local officials, community members, and other dignitaries for a celebration of the park's artistic centerpiece.

The bronze Volunteer Statue represents Tennessee's volunteer spirit by embodying the 1812 soldier. Over a year in the making, the statue was funded by a combination of grants received from the Tennessee Wars Commission, state funding, and an array of organizational fundraising. Student bands from Fayetteville High School and Lincoln County High School ushered in living history portrayals of soldiers and General Jackson, and the Lincoln County NROTC led the opening procession. The program included remarks by CBHSA Board members, representatives from the Tennessee Wars Commission, Tennessee Society of the War of 1812, as well as Mayor Michael Whisenant, U.S. Representative Scott DesJarlais, TN Senator Shane Reeves, TN Representative Pat Marsh, and TN Director of Rural Development Jim Tracy. 

Sculptor Wayne Hyde conducted the unveiling to generous applause. With the conclusion of the unveiling program, attendees gathered for fellowship and many walked the site's trails, enjoying the first of the interpretative signage now lining the trails.
